Second Grade King/Queen Book Report Scoring Guide
PLEASE USE THE READING LEVEL OF THE BOOK NOT THE AR LEVEL


Picture books = 1 point (0.5 – 1.8)
Grade level books = 2 points (1.9 – 2.8)
Above grade level books = 3 points (2.9+)

Second Grade King, Queen and Court for Reading


Guidelines for Teachers:
  • All books must be preapproved by the teacher first before the student reads the book or completes the
book report.

  • Remember to have the student(s) write in the reading level of the book NOT the AR points.

  • All teachers and students will begin the reading incentive on the same day in January. It will be
MONDAY, JANUARY 17, 2011.

  • Practice how to complete the Book Reports with the students at least one time before competition begins.
If completing together as a group, students receive a score one point lower than designated.
Example 2 point book done together as a group = 1 point

save the work to the account and I can check it at school. Or, you may save

the work to a USB and then I will return the USB drive after I view the report.

Students: Be sure to include Author, Illistrator, 4 events (or 4 things that you learned), setting and characters.
